We're at it again! Last year I was able to raise over $4,000 for the CP center in Green Bay.  CP is a locally run non-profit organization that offers therapy and life skills services for physical, cognitive, developmental, and sensory conditions.  Providing personalized services that allow people of all ages and abilities achieve goals and live the lives they want to live.  

Last year we focused on how CP was supporting Ford.  Ford was in occupational therapy focussing on his sensory needs.  We learned strategies to help redirect unsafe stims, activites to give his body what he needs, and tools to safely fulfill his sensory needs.  We received help navigating the sensory aspect behind certain behaviors that allowed us the ability to better advocate for him.  

Ford was also in speeh therapy where he was able to receive an AAC device to help him communicate.  

This year we are focussing on Abram.  When Abe was three he had a grand mal seizure that led us to childrens hospital.  After an overnight EEG he was diagnosed with epilepsy.  He likely had been having small seizures unnoticed his entire life. His seizure activity is focal to the frontal lobe, dramatically effecting his executive movement, motor skills, and speech.  After talking with Fords OT she recommended we start occupational therapy for Abe.  

After many months of hard work, we are seeing a tremendous amount of progress.  Abram now has strategies to maintain a predictable routine, tools to help regulate when he is feeling overwhelmed, activities to improve his motor skills, and the confidence to set goals for himself.  He is able to do more things independently both at home and in school.  His overall quality of life has greatly improved because of the support we received at the CP center.  

This fundraiser is important to our family for so many reasons.  I want to thank you all for taking a moment to check out my page.  As a mother, to have a place where my children feel safe, accepted, and respected means more to me than almost anything in the world.  Walking into the CP center and seeing the joy it brings to so many people is honestly one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced. 

The CP Annual Telethon is a celebration of year long giving and thanking our community for all they do to support our clients and programs.
